WALT the names of the whetu in the Matariki constellation.

WALT imagine what celebrating Matariki would have like 150 years ago.
In my diary entry I have recorded what I imagine life would have been like around the time of Matariki.
Dear Diary,
I woke up this morning to see the matariki stars and their names were Waiti,Waita,Waipuna-a-rangi,Tupuanuku,Tupuarangi,Pohutukawa,Ururangi,Hiwa-i-te-rangi and Matariki. Matariki is the mother of all of the stars in Matariki. Hiwa-i-te-rangi is the youngest star out of all the stars.Pohutukawa is the oldest star because she looks after our ancestors who have passed away. Waipuna-a-rangi is connected to the rain that nourishes the land. Ururangi is connected to the weather and determines how windy it will be. Waiti is the star who is connected to everything that comes out of freshwater. Waita is associated with Tangaroa and all of the food sources. Tupuanuku look after everything that grows in the soil. Tupuarangi is the star that connects with food that grows above our heads.
In the morning my dad went out to the bushes and got some birds to eat. I went out with my mum to catch some tuna. Then back at home we cook some birds and some tuna. We ate for a long time until we were full.
I sang a waiata in front of the Matariki stars. We even played some games on Matariki. They had really cool games. My dad did a haka to the Matariki stars. At night we went inside the house and went to sleep.
